I have been unmarried  for quit sometime now. I have learned that being single and interacting with married people is a good thing to do. But precautionary measures must be taken for friendships to remain healthy. I recently had a friend that I haven't seen in over 20 years contact me on face book. After a few emails we terminated the communication because she was married and I am not. One of the major keys to these types of friendships being successful is to  be self controlled in  your attractions with  the husband or wife. As unmarried people  interactions with the opposite sex need to be handled properly. For instance, I think that accountability should always be a priority when hanging out with someone's spouse. What I mean is that a man should not find himself alone with  a married woman no matter how good their friendship may be.  Phone conversations and Internet interactions should be kept at a minimum as well. If any of these type  things have already begun to develop, I suggest that it be stopped right away. It's just not worth gambling with great friendships. 1)Always stop Internet communication about personal things as soon as it begins with someones spouse of the opposite sex..
2)Never spend an extended amount of time with a married person of the opposite sex.
3)If a situation arises where you will be alone with someones husband or wife invite another friend to be present or cancel the event.
4)Make  a moral boundary to not interact with married people alone.
5)Avoid business relationships if they begin to swing into a more personal type relationship if at all possible.
